Merton Intermediate School - Merton, WI - Celebration Day

Overview
  • Took place on a Friday (rain date Monday) and was from about 11:00 - 4:00. This year will be all day!
  • Every grade level gets a different color T-Shirt which is donated by the PTO.
  • Lunch is served from our lunch service (hot dog, hamburger, chips, veggies) or they can bring a cold lunch. We eat outside that day!
  • Everyone is outside for lunch from 4K-8th grade (about 1,100 kids)
  • Older grades run in our mile race before lunch and then participate in their activities after lunch. Our younger grades participate in the run (1/2 mile or 1/4 mile) as one of their stations in the afternoon.
  • Teams were set up in their classrooms. Every teacher kept their class!

Here is a copy of our activities that we did for our 4th - 6th grades. We tried a competition between classes and then had the winning class play the teachers in a game of dodgeball. Lots of fun!

These kids loved:
  • Nascar Races
  • Hole in the Bucket
  • Treasure Hunt
  • Tug of War

Kids thought that Toxic waste was difficult, but they enjoyed the challenge and we had a great teacher there who did a great job going with the flow. Sometimes activities need to be adjusted and she was awesome at it!
